Tenko was the top border collie puppy in 2000 in the Our Dogs publication and joint top puppy in the Border Collie Club of GB competition. His sire is our Sh Ch Tonkory Palmerston at Fayken and his dam is Teresa Baxter's Miraje Georgie Girl.
Tenko was lightly shown during 2002 and 2003 whilst I campaigned his father Taz, however 2004 really started with a bang. Tenko won the CC and BOB at the first (January) championship show (Manchester Ch Show) of 2004 and was then short-listed to the final 6 in the Pastoral Group. Tenko attended two more shows gaining two firsts and a Reserve CC before another rest to re-grow coat. Tenko returned to the ring at Birmingham National Championship Show (Sept 1994) and once more won the CC & BOB and was shortlisted in the group. At Tenko's second show in 2005 he was awarded the Reserve CC just losing out to his half brother Sh Ch Arnpriors BluTaz at Fayken. Then at Leeds Championship Show 2005, judge Keith Starkey awarded Tenko his crowning CC and also BOB. With an entry of 217 Border Collies, the highest in the group and highest Border Collie entry of any "All Breeds" championship show in 2005 it was certainly a great achievement. Interestingly, on this ocaasion Tenko's half brother Sh Ch Arnpriors BluTaz at Fayken won the Reserve Dog CC.
Tenko is now semi-retired from the show ring. |
